As you prepare to join Ðǿմ«Ã½, one of the most important steps is ensuring you have the right technology for your program.
We support a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) approach. Having your own personal laptop that meets your program's requirements means you're ready to learn anywhere — the classroom, at home, or on the go.
The guide outlines the device specifications required for your program, as well as where to purchase, and the technology resources available to you as a student. A broadband internet connection is also required for any off-campus or remotely delivered learning.

Not Recommended
The following device types are not recommended as your primary device:
Chromebooks, iPads, Tablets, and ARM-based Laptops
- Chromebooks, iPads and other tablets are not suitable as a primary device. You may have issues running software, there is limited file management capability, and you may encounter problems such as restricted system access and compatibility issues with College systems
- Copilot+ PCs with ARM-based processors (e.g., Asus Vivobooks with Snapdragon processors) are not recommended. Students may encounter problems such as software incompatibility and connectivity issues on our network.
Devices with limited battery life
- Ensure your device has sufficient battery life to make it through your school day
Devices without warranties
- We strongly recommend purchasing an extended warranty at the time of purchase, so you will be covered for the length of your program. Repairs and replacements for personal devices remain the student's responsibility.
Where to Purchase
You can purchase your device from any trusted retailer, including Dell where our students are offered a discount.
Dell Discount for Students
Ðǿմ«Ã½ has partnered with Dell to offer our students a 10% discount and free standard shipping on most orders. On the Dell website, you will need to verify your student email in order to access your discount, which is stackable on top of regular Dell promotions.
